[SOLVED] Products went wrong after upgrade

I did a one-click upgrade from PS 1.4.6.2 to 1.5.6.2 and I encountered issues with my products images, etc. I thought that the step might have been too large so I rolled back and upgraded to 1.5.3.1 but I am facing the same issues, all related to my products.

First thing I noticed is that all produce images are gone, category images are ok. Using the legacy system I can regenerate thumbnails for all images except for products. I get the following error:

709 errors
Original image is missing or empty (public_html/testps/img/p/1/6/7/167.jpg) for product ID 169
Original image is missing or empty (public_html/testps/img/p/2/8/9/289.jpg) for product ID 291
Original image is missing or empty (public_html/testps/img/p/2/9/9/299.jpg) for product ID 301
…

I also tried to move the images the the new system but the process only takes 2 seconds and I get a successful message. However, images are not moved and the issues remain.

Also all my categories are empty in the back office. Products are listed in the front end, and the show in the product section in the BO but not inside categories. I toggled friendly URLs on/off to generate a new htaccess file but nothing changes. I cleared the cache in both server and computer and nothing.

Any pointers will be appreciated.

Ok, I just learned that this is how PS1.5 works. I have using PS1.4 for too long and this was confusing. Still can't find a solution for the image's issue.

I was able to regenerate all my images by rolling back to PS 1.4, move my images to the new file system there and then upgrade to 1.5.

 

I don't know why I couldn't move the images properly after the upgrade. I tried all suggestions I found in the forum.
