Unable to select categories when setting up layered navigation filter

Hi everybody,

 

I was trying to setup a filter for some specific categories in the layered navigation module. When I click on the "Specific categories" radio button to select the categories I want to use, a new layer opens with the category tree; however, the tree is collapsed and there's no way I can expand it, nor clicking on the "+" sign, neither clciking in the "Expand all" link. (I have 486 categories).

Looks like an ajax error to me but I cannot see anything relevant in the Network tab in Chrome dev. tools...anyone had a similar issue or knows how what's the cause for it?

I noticed this too in an earlier version of PS. It's working OK in 1.5.6.2, so if you're not on that version, might be worth upgrading.
