Random files with the word "test" in them.

Ok, so I moved servers a few days ago. During which the folder permissions did not transfer over. I tried to run / test the site when the transfer was completed but since the folder and file permissions were not set I ran into a bunch of errors. I quickly realized that Prestashop was trying to read/write thus I applied the correct permissions and all seems well.....

 

However, I was just browsing my file structure and I notice I have random files all throughout such as:

 

52f4acb8c5b3c

 

all the files are only 4 bytes long and only contain the text: test

 

The date/time stamp for all the files corresponds to when I was troubleshooting the errors I was having when moving over from the old server and during the time I was playing around with folder/file permissions to get it right. 

 

I also noticed that these files were only in the folders which Prestashop needed read/write access for. 

 

The last thing, is that a couple of my module folders were renamed to randomness. It did not effect my site as a correctly named version was there also.

 

So my question: does Prestashop create "test" files? What could be causing this?
