[SOLVED]"Index of "/ instead home page

Hello,

 

When Im opening my homepage im getting "index of"/ prestashop2 instead of my home page. What should I do to change that. Can anyone help please.

if so, i think that you have to move all files from subdirectory to root dir of your hosting account

Yes, "prestashop2" its the name of my sub directory.

 

I had already try to do that but then I cant access my categories.

I have try to do that again. Move all files to root directory, change base url to my domain, change ps_shop_url  - physical url to my domain and now getting Internal Server Error. Have I done something wrong or do I have to change something else ?

I have done it, and now got a Error 500. I try to do all from this post " Error 500 - Internal Server Error on all pages except for Admin front page" nothing works.... what could I do next ?

you moved all files from prestashop2 to root dir of your hosting account. have you changed also permissions for all necessary files (like you had while installation of prestashop) ?

yes, I have done all that. I changed permission to 755 also I changed  base url in my back office to my domain and ps_shop_url  - physical url to my domain. I regenerate .htaccess file. Did i miss something ?

I thought you could have just set the shop url with uri  of prestashop2...

but if domain address is for example domain.com 

when someone enter there - will see "index of" due to the fact that script is installed in subdirectory

 

now we are trying to move script from /prestashop2/ to root "/"

I fix this error- it was wrong base url in shop_url database. Now I disable friendly url in back office and have error 404 (when friendly url is enable im getting error 500)

Some temporary Solution found....

I have instal new presta on my root dir and then upload backup of my prestashop2. ( prestashop2 still in my root directory as when I delete it 500 error comes up)

 

Shop is working at the moment, but still will try to do as it should be.

First, make sure to backup everything. I would then copy your store to a local just to test. You need to move the files from the subdirectory into your root directory. (Make sure your root directory is blank). After you do that, you can remove what you have in the physical uri.

Have you cleared your htaccess after you deleted the physical uri? it should be in the public_html folder usually. Backup as usual.

you could simply just turn off error reporting, this is a warning nothing more...you can leave errors turned on but change the level of reporting to errors only but not notices/warnings.

Thank you for your advice. At the start I had 2 prestashop on my root dir. now its only one and thats only software im running from root dir.
