SOS! Module Translations Problem

Recommended Posts

My Prestashop version is 1.4.3. I am working on a really important site with a template I bought to Template Monster. I have the site in Spanish by default and I need it so.  I translated to spanish some words, but I can't translate other words. When I click on "update translationsnothing happens (the words are not translated). First, a technician send me this: "Dear Customer, Take our apologies for the delayed reply. The error that is causing the problem is below: Warning, your hosting provider limits the maximum number of fields to post in a form: 1000 for max_input_vars Please ask your hosting provider to increase the post and request limit to 1130 at least. or edit the translation file manually". Then, I send him this: I personally talked with my hosting provider today. max_input_vars value was already on 6000. Then, He send me this:"Dear Customer,Take our apologies for the delayed reply. This last problem is related to the prestashop engine itself and your server rather than to the template (skin). Please, address it to the prestashop support at http://www.prestashop.com/forums/". Please HELP me! I would appreciate it very much!.

First, thank you so much for your help. Second, when I save changes I see the normal green message "update successful", but when I update the website the changes are not made. The words I wanted to translate (for example, names of pages or buttons from the horizontal menu (tmheaderlinks) and some homefeatured words)). Please help me as you can in this problem. I would appreciate it very much man.

strange,

but it can be related to permissions

can you enable error reporting, and try to translate it again?

in addition,

have you checked all necessary things? i mean:

- installed modules translations

- select YOUR theme

- click on flag that you want to translate

the most important thing: second step (theme selection)

Really strange, but I am going to check what you have said me. Benjamin Utterback also said me this yesterday:

"Hi, please write a thread on the Forum.

Also, technical Note: If your hosting provider has the “suhosin” php patch, you will need to change two more values to the same number. These values are

suhosin.get.max_vars = 6000;
suhosin.post.max_vars = 6000; ]"

What do you say or think about it (Benjamin Utterback answer) ?

His message is more than correct.

If your hoster use suhosin (it's a advanced protection system for php) you have to change also values mentioned by Benjamin

but the most important thing: are you 100% sure that your hoster allows you to modify php.ini file?

vekia, a Template Monster Tech told me this now: "The problem seems to be related to your folder/file permissions. When we are trying to set permissions through FileZilla we are getting error messages (screenshot attached). You need to try and set permissions 757 to folders and 646 to files on your server.

We moved all your site to our test server and found no issues, so the problem occurs on your server only."
