[Solved] Prestashop website very slow

Recommended Posts

My website is VEERRRRY slow.  I have force compile off, cache on, CCC cache is on, as well as apache optimization.  I've tried to disable modules that are not in use.  Any ideas on what is causing my website to be so slow?  InMotion is my hosting provider.

My website is www.tstudiojewelry.com

Thanks in advance for any advice.

My hosting provider is InMotion.  When you say "what kind of hosting", what do you mean?

I'm sorry, I am not a website designer or develper, I am amazed I was able to get it this far.

Prestashop made it easy, loving it so far! (well, except for the fact it is slow.)

Before I redesigned my website with Prestashop, it was created with CoffeeCup software, and it was very fast.  I never had a problem with it, and my hosting hasn't changed.  The only difference is the new website with Prestashop.

I have the Power Plan.

Hmm, something is up with the home featured module I am thinking. It is browsing too much of the database for what it is spitting out. Do you mind sending me your back office login through a personal message. I can see what the module is trying to do maybe.

Also, I noticed that on the category pages the layered navigation is loading, are you using that anywhere on the site?

The issue centered around the TM Featured Products module. It loaded data for all of the products associated with the "home" category, even though it only showed 8 products. So it was loading 150+ products on the initial page load.

One main think I see jumping out at me is that your page is 5.2 mb. You need to use scaled images for the product images on that page, you are using way too big of images. The images are 500 x 568, but displaying around 224 x 254. Also turn ccc on in your back office.

Yes that is an issue i cant figure out and it a big issue casue I cant import items to ebay successfully because the images are displaying too small. I changed the image size for that reason but like you said they are displaying the size i changed them too. I wanted to change them just to upload to ebay then change them back but I cant figure out why they arent changing successfully.

BY THE WAY THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO HELP ME. I plan on hiring you guy to optimize my sight for SEO once I have some extra money!!

My bounce rate is real high because my site is so slow..im very exited to get some help with this and fix it!
