Difficulties with Yotpo and Social modules

Recommended Posts

We installed a new theme and by and large everything went suprisingly well.  The only problems I've noticed are the following:

1) Yotpo reviews text field on the product page extends into the right column.  I've tried editing the CSS file for Yotpo and I can't seem to affect any changes to the module.  Would it be possible to reintegrate the exported Yotpo reviews into the built in reviews module or another module that plays nice with my site's theme?

2) The social module in the footer does not display the icons of the various services, just an invisible link. (This problem seems to only occur in Firefox)

3) Images in the Products Category module on the products page appear stretched.  I'm in the process of reginerating the images but so far no luck. (Problem fixed)

If you have suggestions or advice I'd really appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Charles

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion.  When I contacted Yotpo support on the 19th of last month Lucy Portman explained to me that there is a CSS conflict between our theme and Yotpo and that your technical services team only provides support for basic Yotpo installations and I was put in contact with Serina Levy to discuss a premium account.  She kindly explained to me that in order to fix the problem I would have to be a premium subscriber at a cost of $150.00 per month which is way outside our price range.

If you believe that I received incorrect information then would you please provide me with a method to get the correct inforomation?  Otherwise, I'll have to keep looking.  I love your service, but if we can't figure this out, we will of course have to look for a different solution.  Here's hoping we can fix the conflict.

Thanks,

Charles

Hey again, Charles,

First of all, thanks for your kind words about Yotpo--we love you too!

Sorry we were unable to help you out in this instance. We try our best to make sure everyone can use our service, but unfortunately there are situations where, because of technical conflicts, the support solution goes beyond what we offer for our free accounts.

We hate when this happens, but sometimes our hands are tied. We'll miss you!

Thank you for your reply but I'm not quite ready to give up yet.  Would you be able to tell me if this is something that has to be fixed on your end so that I don't waste too much of my time troubleshooting?

Thanks.

Hey Charles,

I just sat down with our Head of Support to look at your site.

She explained to me that if it were just one issue, we could easily fix it --but , in this case, there are several CSS conflicts between your theme and Yotpo.

We're as bummed as you are that this didn't work out, Charles. If you every decide to change your theme again, we hope you'll come back!

Thank you for looking into that.  Could you please tell me if the issues are on your end or if they can be fixed by editing the CSS on my end?  I have an IT person who could look at it. Also, if it's only an issue on my end I'd be happy to subscribe for a month or pay Yotpo to fix the code.  That would be a great solution if it's something you could do.  If not then I guess I will have to find something else.  Thank you for all your help so far.

Hey,

These are not issues on our end and they can be fixed by editing the CSS on your end.

Elto is a company we're partnered with that knows our product really well, so you could try to get a quote from them for the fix.

Once again, Charles, I'm sorry we couldn't help you out in this case.
