polynikes300
Hi My database and prestashop set up was done for me by someone no longer around. I want to back up and prepare for an upgrade from 1.5.4.0. Iam unsure what to make of the files listed in my hosts directory because nothing is labelled 'prestashop'. Please see the attached files which demonstrate the directory I will list here (its easier to look at then to explain it). but here goes... .ssh images lamp0 private snapshot vhosts all except lamp0 and vhosts are empty folders. lamp0 - etc - tmp - trash - var - vcs - web (click web to go to) customadmin includes vhosts - velofrance.fr (my site) - htdocs As you can see, I can aslo get to htdocs from vhosts in the 'origin' listed above which then gives the same files list as found from lamp0. So where is the main prestashop folder to back up? The images I have posted here on this topic help to show the file directory. please help. Thanks Poly
selectshop.at
No one folder you mentioned are Prestashop core files. Before you delete something here, please ask your provider. .SSH,vhost are common server directories. For the others I cannot say, because I don't know your server architecture. vekia
these files aren't prestashop files. These files are your host files and i suppose that they are necessary. they are, usually. i suppose that your prestashop directory is vhosts - velofrance.fr
polynikes300
Hi all Thanks for the rapid responses. Vekia:- So now that I have copied the vhosts files from the server side down and onto my computer and a seperate hard drive, am I now ready to 1click upgrade? I'm trying to back up and upgrade (for the first time) from 5.1.4.0. My shop is in maintenance mode. Thanks

polynikes300
Yes thank you Vekia On that note please can you take a look at this screen image taken from myadmin hosting panel. I have selected the directory (left hand side) prestashop and the files are now listed. But I don't see any 'tables' ? Is it that I need now to simply click onto export ? and if so, where will the downloaded (copied) database be found? Is it possible to take this copy database and save it where I choose or does it stay server side in a directory as specified by my hosting compant (Gandi). Can't thank you enough for your help. To click 'go' would do what exactly? don't I have to select files or tables? its not at all clear to a first timer like me! DOH. and remember please I didn't set up this database, it was done for me on the basis I would have continued support! but no..... cheers poly
