renee_nistler Posted January 30, 2014 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Hello, I am having trouble with the Groups functionality applying discounts in Prestashop 1.5.6. I created a 'Wholesaler' group with a straight discount of 20% on all products. I assigned a specific customer to the 'Wholesaler' group. When I log into the front end as that customer and add products to the Cart, the discount is not applied. I tried creating groups with straight discount (not category specific) and again with category specific Neither is applying the discount. The ps_group and ps_group_lang tables show the newly added groups correctly, but the ps_group_reduction table and the ps_product_group_reduction_cache tables are empty. Is this expected? I am still unable to get group discount to work for customers assigned to a new group that applies discounts to all items in the cart or to just individual categories. Please close this topic as I realized after much testing that the discount is automatically applied in the price upon login and not captured/displayed in the CART checkout. Problem solved! Checked by logout and login, but no discount is being applied. please make sure to clear browse cache and cookies when testing like this. it may not help in your case but not doing so can lead to unexpected results. The discount is applied, however there was not message. i.e. if I am logged in as discounted group member, I could see the price as normal e.g. the actual price in Store is 600, but its appearing 540 (after applying 10% discount). However, as a user experience I am thinking that item actual price is 540. If there could be a separate message like appear in cart rules, that would make more sense.
