[SOLVED - sort of] How do I change URL's of categories?

[Essex Dog Supplies]

Can someone tell me how I change URLs of my categories to the following:

 

 

Example:

 

http://www.essexdogsupplies.co.uk/29-beds

 

to...

 

http://www.essexdogsupplies.co.uk/beds

 

 

 

It just makes it easier to point customers to certain products on my website.

Hi, native PrestaShop up to 1.5.6.1 does not support removing id from category url

back office-->preferences-->set & urls-->Schema of URL's

 

there are after market solutions, I don't have any particular recommendation but use this as example

Pretty URL's is what i'm after then! No free modules out there that work well, tried and tested? Prestashop versions?

in my opinion there is no good module for this.

why? all of them doesnt work as they should work. i mean... if you change name from beds for example to super-beds, your old link http://www.essexdogsupplies.co.uk/beds will loose whole seo because new url will look like http://www.essexdogsupplies.co.uk/super-beds

 

when someone will open old page /beds - it will not work as it work with id number in url, user will not be redirected - instead of this your customer will see 404 or internal prestashop "page not found".

definitely bad, for customers, and for seo.
