PLEASE HELP! blank index page

Hi,

 

I just found out that my site is just a blank page at this moment. 

I just submitted a ticket to my hosting service but I wanted to try some help here and see if someone would have any idea of what could be happening :/

 

I checked and all the files are in place, and the index.php file looks ok to me.

I also checked and the error reporting looks activated, but i can't check what's wrong.

 

the site is an entirely white page, no 404 error or anything but white.

Also, I haven't touched any files for weeks, so I'm sure I didn't touch anything!!

 

Any ideas?!

turn on error reporting, then (probably) instead of just blank page you will see full error code

I thought it was already activated but I checked better and I was looking at another line.

 

Now it shows the error:

 

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE in /home/quirk617/public_html/cache/class_index.php on line 142

 

I don't understand why is this showing, I never edited the  file class_index.php

Ok, I'll continue with my monologue, I just opened the file from a zip I had of a previous install and I discovered it was corrupted with many lines missing. 

I hope this isn't part of a bigger problem. 

I just pasted the missing lines to the file and the site appears to be showing correctly for now

in fact, this is forum, not chat, so it's normal that you've got replies after some time

remove this file (make backup first) and then refresh your website

Hi, I just installed Prestashop 1.6 and was setting up my store. I must have done something because now my homepage is completely blank. When I type in /index, there's the page but with a 404 message saying the page is no longer available. What do I do? Beginner level.

and when you turn on error reporting, what you see instead of blank page?

 

open: config/defines.inc.php

 

find this line define('_PS_MODE_DEV_', false);

change to look like this define('_PS_MODE_DEV_', true);
