hansoft
Hi I am desperately trying to upgrade Prestashop from version 1.5.4.1 to 1.5.6.2 by using one click update, but after the upgrade proces has reached "[Cleaing cache] FF removed", then it stops and never gets finished. No warnings and no error is shown. If I after "a while" tries to log in Again to BO, then I get this message: Link to database cannot be established: SQLSTATE[HY000] [1045] Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) Why does one click upgrade not Work, and if I have to make a new clean install og 1.5.6.2, will I could use my 1.5.4.1 database ? Thanks
NemoPS
Weird. Can you try updating again, but this time rising the developer console (f12 on chrome) and inspecting it once the process breaks? Specifically, the network tab might hold a clue on what's going on, try to look for a red entry there, or in the 'console' tab

benjamin utterback
Any suggestions ?? You should contact your hosting provider. In the meantime, check your config/settings.inc.php and make sure that your database settings are correct.
hansoft
I am my own host, and version 1.5.4.1 is working and is alive. How can database settings be incorrect if prestashop is up and running ? "Check your config/settings.inc.php" ... Yes .. but WHAT should I check ????? Please provide me with some answers that are specific and useful !!! Henrik
hansoft
And for your information: I have other Prestashops running in other versions where one click worked fine. I have just updated from 1,5,6,1 to 1.5.6.2 on this: www.hansoft.dk and it is the same server and same settings.... I bellive that it is one click upgrade thats not working. benjamin utterback
Are you using the latest version of the auto-upgrade module? If you have other stores working on it then it's probably not your database. Just double check, define('_DB_SERVER_', 'localhost or DB host'); define('_DB_NAME_', 'your_database_name'); define('_DB_USER_', 'your_database_user_name'); define('_DB_PASSWD_', 'your_database_password');
hansoft
OK, I am not giving you the actual defines, but in file "settings.inc.php" is the names defined correct. I am using the latest version of 1-click module (1.2.6), but the different versions og prestashop is running in each own copy of MySQl ... Upgrading has worked om every prestashop except this 1.5.4.1. Could the MySQL database has an error despite the 100% working shop ? If so - how to repair and could the database and konfiguration be transferred to a version 1,5.6.2 reinstalled shop ?
NemoPS
I'm kinda bugged, I saw that happening after but not during the upgrade. soon after that error, is the settings.inc.php file still correct?
hansoft
Yes. Both the "old" and the new one .. they have the same content .. I cannot find anything that should explain the failure to link to database.
NemoPS
I'm clueless, any chance the script times out? can you access the database via phpmyadmin soon after the upgrade fails?
hansoft
I AM able to access the database via phpmyadmin - no problems.... The only difference between the new and the ols settings.inc.php file is the new line at the end: define('_PS_DIRECTORY_', '/../../'); But Prestashop fails (or 1-click-upgrade does) an I must restore the backup ... Will I be able to transfer the old database and settings to version 1.5.6.2 ?
hansoft
Is it possible that no one from Prestashop knows anything about this ??? What about the second question: Can I re-use the database from 1.5.4.1 in 1.5.6.2 ?
NemoPS
The PS directory should be set relatively to your domain. For example, it's blank if your store is located as http://mystore.com, and it's '/storename' is it's located at http://mystore.com/storename
hansoft
The store is in root of domain. PHPMyAdmin can connet to database using settings from settings.inc.php, so no problems in setting. And the store is just one of many running the same way and they update fine. If I accept that Prestashop version 1.5.4.1 cannot be upgraded, will you answer if I can re-use database in 1.5.6.2 ?
NemoPS
I never tried a 1.5.4 dump on a 1.5.6.2 version, but you might run into trouble.
hansoft
Yeah ... It would be more relevant Prestaguys fixed the upgrade problem ....
