AlanWooler
Hi everybody, I have been running Presta shop for over 8 months now for a charity to sell little things to try and raise some money for them. We get a sale once a month, sometimes in 2 months and so far only 3 messages through the Customer Service area. The issue is that the shop is not emailing me (or anybody) to let me know that somebody has submitted a question. Is there anyway that the shop can email me to say that somebody has posted a question or forward me the question? The last person who submitted a question did so 5 days before I logged in to see it. As we get so little sales I can't really log in every night to see if somebody has posted one since we get so few sales. If anybody knows of a plugin or setting I can change, I would be very grateful if you could let me know. If though it can't be done, please let me know how you guys deal with it even if it is that you do log in each day to see if anybody has left a message. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Alan P.S. I am on version 1.5.3.1 Edited January 23, 2014 by AlanWooler (see edit history)
indus
Hi Can you go to modules > mailalerts and check what is the email address you want messages to be delivered to?

indus
Hi, in your back office, go to advanced parameters > email and try to send a test email to this address. You will find that option at the bottom of the page.
AlanWooler
Hi indus, so sorry for not responding sooner, been so busy and just haven't got around to coming back in here. So, I did as you asked and went to the advanced parameters > email and sent a test email and I got it on my phone about 20 seconds later, so it works fine, it can send emails. Sorry to ask, but can you think of anything else I can try?
indus
Hi In advanced parameters, can you use smtp mail instead of phpmail to send the emails, i think if i remember correctly, i had this issue once and this is what solved it. AlanWooler
Sorry I haven't responded sooner. Thanks for the info. I had already though set it up to use SMTP a number on months ago.If I click on the test button at the bottom of the page I get the email within a few seconds (or so) and I get emails every time that somebody places an order, just not when they send a message through the customer services bit. Anybody any ideas?
indus
Hi Alan, Maybe i found the problem. Can you go to preferences > store contacts and see what is the email there?
AlanWooler
Sure, this is what is on there. The email address 'sales@' is a valid email address that is hoocked up to my phone and Outlook.
indus
Hi Can you upgrade the mail alerts module to version 3.2 and try. There are many bug fixes after older version. Maybe it will help. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/301686-solved-mailalerts-module-ver-28-not-working-in-1561/?do=findComment&comment=1556625
