adeep
Hi, I'm using PS v 1.5.4.1 and want to get a copy as local installation of my live ps-installation. I downloaded my prestashop folder from my live server, exported the db. I imported the db and within changed the shop_url to localhost. I modified the settings.inc.php. I copied the whole folder under xampp/htdocs/shop/prestashop - but when I open it in the browser I will be directed to the xampp start page? What have I done wrong, what are the necessary settings? All help I can got is welcome. Thanks in advance. regards adeep Edited January 21, 2014 by adeep (see edit history)

benjamin utterback
Hey adeep, I think you should try it again following this tutorial on this thread. It should help you out http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/215562-installing-prestashop-on-your-local-machine-tutorial/
adeep
Hi Benjamin, thanks for your message. I know this tutorial but it doesn't describe my situation. I don't want a new installation on a local machine, I want the copy of my online installation running on my local machine. The prestashop installation routine doesn't help
adeep
Solved. Problem was the .htaccess file.
benjamin utterback
Perfect, did you manually delete the htaccess via FTP and regenerate it?
adeep
I have the files now here local, so I just renamed the htaccess and with the 'new' access to the backend I regenerated it. But now there is an other question. I installed a local copy of my online-shop to try out the multishop. It's better post a new thread, may be you can help me.
