Looking for a guestbook!!

Recommended Posts

Hello here,

I am looking for an guest book for my shop so people can read others comments.
It must have the ability for the admin to view, approve and quote a command.
And for logged in CUSTOMERS only!!
That's the only thing i need.
I bought an module from Prestaworks but it is not what i am looking for.
This is not what i want.
I am willing to pay you right away true pay-pal if you have something nice.

I tried to install this one from below, but no luck. Maybe someone can help.

It must look like to one Tamas Szegedi uses.

I am online

Because every people can ad a comment. Admin cannot quote. The interface is buggy.
They make easy money.

If you are willing to pay €20 , why don't you ask the Prestawork to modify the module for you? If the script is compariable with the Prestashop, you only need to add few codes into it, and it will only allow the login customers to post....

  • 1 month later...
Finaly!!

We will have a guestbook for Presta.
Keep up the good work mate!! ;-)

Hi,

Since I´m not a expert php programmer, i hope this module fit your needs. It´s all I can do.

This module is very simple to use. Customer fills the form on front office, but its message will appear on the guestbook list of messages if you accept it.

regards

Little update, in order to allow or not customers not logged in to see guest book entries.

Thanks mate.
I really appreciated it, that you once again take your time to develop this nice module.
This is something Prestashop is missing.
Very nice cart, but little things can make it so powerful that it wipe every other cart out.

Is this supported in 1.1 and 1.2 version?
I will Giff it a try.
Ill let you now soon. ;-)

Ok, i have install everything in the back-office.
When i type a message, and approve it in the back-office it wont show the message.
I have a 2 column site. is this the problem?
And is it possible that when the message is approved, i stays in the back-office, so i can always delete a message.
Ill wait for your answer.

Greets.

I think the email section should not be seen in public as it will scare customers to sign the book. Nobody wants their email address be seen in public site....

And can we have the page break if over 30 posts or something, otherwise it will go on and on....

This is a great module. Thank you very much.

Ehinarr,

I think there is still something to change.
When i update the settings in back-office for logged customers everything works well.
But everybody can write in the front office and only logged customers can view the guestbook.

I think that its better that only logged customers can write a message and all customers can view the guestbook.

Thanks mate..

hi All,

Here is some explanations about the features on current version 1.5:

Who can view the Guest Book entries?
1. Logged Customers
2. All people

- I think that encourage people to fill in guest book also will encourage them to subscribe in store in order to view your own messages.
- All messages are moderate, so a good message of a still not customer could be lost if only registered cutomers are allowe to fill in the gues book.
_ I vote to let all people sign on the guest book.

Show emails?
1. Yes
2. No

- It depends on the privacy policy of your country.

Show most recent message?
1. Yes
2. No

- It depends on your willingness.

PS 1.1 compatible mode?
1. Yes - If you have a PS 1.1
2. No

How many rows per page?

- It defines how many entries (lines/rows) will de showed on front office.

but if i past it. the messages are gone.
so witch lines can i paste it?

This is for the top:

And this is for the bottom:

Ehinarr,

I don't use guestbook for my site. But I was following the way that you make this module. I have learned a lot from it, and I just want to say thank you for all what you have taught me. And thanks for the module. Thanks again.

Thanks to hear that mate. thats why i want to donate you something.
Do you only build modules?
Are you know much about Prastashop. Because i have a web 2.0 footer and cant get the newsletter module in it.
Maybe you can help when you have some time.
Do you have Paypal?

The Newsletter module comes standard with any prestashop installation so Prestashop takes full credit for this one.
Of course any module can be customised to suit clients requirements.

It shouldn't take no longer than 2hrs to do this type of modification.
"contact us":http://ejectcore.com/contact-form.php if you are interested in extending this module further.

yes but then in the footer.
See my site for the footer.
you know the link?
And where is your mail?

To do like I did it and like http://www.wowo.fr/, just make this:

Open /modules/blocknewsletter/blocknewsletter.php and add this code, near line 173:

function hookFooter($params)
   {
       return $this->hookLeftColumn($params);
   }

After that, go to your BO->Modules->Positions->Transplant a module, and transplant it to footer.
Still in positions, delete that one that remains on Left column blocks.
You are done, just customize it to fit your needs and looks of your theme.

I am running an international site. Can this module add a field "country"? I would like to show where they are from. And can this module be protected by Captcha?

This is a great module. Thank you very much

The captcha discourages customers from signing the guestbook. In addition, the module has a sophisticated error handling, something like entering a bad email writing or leave something blank. A column for the countries it is possible to add, but the selection list would be enormous.

Hey thats an easy one :)

blocknewsletter/blocknewsletter.php line 173

change :
function hookRightColumn($params)

to :
function hookFooter($params)

Only one line to change then of course update your CSS ;)

Yo men, thanks voor this.
I will try your tip right away.

I do modules as a hobby, not like a job. I really like PS and I learn a lot while I help someone. Of course, if I receive for that, I stay happy. But I do not have answer to all questions. I am still learning.

Verry good point. You are learning. and i am learning from you guys.
Prestashop is a very nice cart also for stupid guys like me.

You do not are stupid. A few months ago, I did not know nothing about php, javascript, smarty... I began by using crtl+c/ctrl+v technology.

Yes. i am learning that way also.
But for me somethimes is very difficult.
Because i want to learn what margin, padding and that kind of stuf do.
So i firebug alot. Cant fix the newsletter.
Its to hard.
