How to get color box from color name?

Hi,

 

In prestashop I have seen color tabs for product different color attributes. So when we add a new product and want to add a new color attribute we have to use product->attributes and color from the admin site. But in admin panel we just add color name like black, blue, orange, green. But in frontend it shows the color box. For  reference I have added the image, there you can see the color box.. So here my question is how it converts color name to color box? An help and suggestions will be really appreciable.

i totally don't know what you want to achieve

by default you can select color with color selection tool:

 

and this is color that you will see in the box in attributes field on product page

Vikea, I think he wants to know the way the thing work, from just adding the name of the color at the BO, then that color apprear in that box of colors in the page of product. the same as you mnetioned in the picture:)

@vekia thanks for the reply. What @walidon has said that I want to know. How the color pallet comes in the product section in frontend but in backend only color name has been entered.

I will explain it thourouly:)

 

in Bo

go to catalog->attributes and values

 

in the attributes and values you will have the choice either to create new attribut or a new value.

and attrinute is the name "color" and the values "the colors themselves"

 

let's say we want to create  an attribute called color. we click on add a new attribute, fill in the nama and public name, and from the Attribute type: choose color. save and back.

we want to add values to that attribute color. click on add a new value, and there you will add the color of your choice as explained in vikea picture or my attachements.

 

then back to your products then you can add the colors that you want (just add the name of the color) which then will be replaced by the actual color in the box
