Multistore and multi currency

Recommended Posts

It´s possible Steen. However, I have been trying for a while to make it work. My problem is that my shop B, does not convert the currency, which means shop B has currency B but the amount is from currency A.

Hope you have more luck with this than me...

I have not looked further into it.

At the moment I have 3 different shop on 2 systems and would like to just have 1.

It seems like it is possible, so I will just start putting on products on my shop, and then work on the multishop part later.

Best wishes

Steen

Hi El PAtron

Ye,s that´s whatIm trying, but it doesn´t work.

I´m almost sure something is wrong, because after 2 weeks of working hard with this issue, there is absolutly no progress.

Would you like to take a look at the back end?

Thanks!

remember, after a visitor selects a currency and they return they will be shown that currency until their cookie expires.  So when testing currency or 'other' things you just clear your browser cookies to see what a visitor would see.

you can pm me your back office login and back office url I can take a look.  before doing this  explain exactly step by step 'here' what you are trying to accomplish as it is not totally clear.

That´s really nice of you El Patron!

Problem is the following:

I use multistore.

- Shop A should use only Danish Kroner

- Shop B Should use only Swedish Kroner

- Shop A works perfectly!

- Shop B displays the Danish amount in Swedish Kroner. What it should do, is to convert the Danish amount into the correct amount of Swedish Kroner. Therefor I set the conversion rate to 1.22 - however, the number in front is is still the same amount as in Shop A

Hope you manage to see whats wrong! Will update after  :)

it working as you have it set now..shop b default currency is s kr

notice that it tells you if you change this you then need to change all the product prices to reflect the change, so basically shop b is reading the product prices as sw kr, not danish kroner.

it would seem to me rather than trying to separate out products by shop, that you set the same default currency for both shops...both shops have same  currencies enabled.

allow in front office currency selector

turn on geo targeting (back office-->preferences-->geo location)

then back office-->localization-->countries...edit countries you  have at registration and set their default currency.

then when visitor comes from sweden, they will see swedish kr, same for denmark etc.

hmm well.. just to be clear: 329 danish kroner in shop A still shows as 329 swedish kroner in shop B.

So you dont think there is away around this, unless I display more both currency options in front end?

Thanks for your time helping to solve this!  B)

it shows 329 on both because shop b default currency is set differently as shop a.  (so you have two different currency defaults for product price).

to do the way you have it defined you would need to 'not share' products, which I am sure you don't want.

Hi again El Patron

I can do this. In GeoLocal. when selecting "yes" it tells me "country not allowed".

"allow in front office currency selector

turn on geo targeting (back office-->preferences-->geo location)

then back office-->localization-->countries...edit countries you  have at registration and set their default currency.

then when visitor comes from sweden, they will see swedish kr, same for denmark etc."

this is how I run my shops....and think it a good idea to do on yours as well.

then with geo localization, using 'specific prices' you can charge different prices by country. :)

though for this to work right you should look at this module (written by me): http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/193843-module-prestashop-geo-pricing-geo-target-specific-prices-by-country/

happy day

Thanks! :-) It should have said "I CANT do this"... you probably guesed that..

I cant find the module you refer to. The link I found doesnt work.

Any other way to get around the "country not allowed" issue?

welcome to take a look at the backend again :-)
