declanwmagee Posted January 15, 2014 Share Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) I am very sorry to ask this question again, I have followed all the guides provided by you generous geniuses to other people who asked the same question but none of them worked for me. I am trying to move my new shop into my new webspace - I have got it just how I want it on localhost. I have: FTP'd everything up there exported the db to an SQL file created a new db in the online PHPMyAdmin, and setup the login credentials imported the SQL file to the new db changed the settings.inc.php file to reflect the new set up changed the tables according to Nemo's excellent tutorial here: http://nemops.com/prestashop-migration-local-live/ and I am still getting this: Link to database cannot be established: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] No such file or directory[/size] I am sure it's a simple thing for those who know what they are doing! thanks in advance... selectshop.at Posted January 16, 2014 Share Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) The error states: Database does not exist or database name in your settings.inc is wrong. Connection not possible. If you moved to host, so you need to adapt the name of the database in settings.inc according the instructions of your hoster (name and password should be adapted accordingly). Everything seems to be working - I might move the whole thing to the domain root though - do you think that's a sensible thing to do, or is it better to do a homepage that links to the shop? walidon Posted January 16, 2014 Share Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) follow these steps carefully and in order: 1. Prior to moving PrestaShop files you should login to PrestaShop admin panel. 2. Navigate to Preferences -> SEO & URLs 3. Scroll down to Set shop URL section and change Base URI field. shop domain: nemops.com ssl domain: nemops.com base URL: / (in your base url put only the / like in the picture) 4. Save the changes. 5.
