[SOLVED] Installation Error "Install demonstration data"

Hey guys,

 

I just tried to install Prestashop on a webserver. After entering the necessary information, the installation gets stuck at the final step at 78% (see the Screenshot).

 

I'm an absolute Newbie, would appreciate some help!

edit: I found a few reports of this problem but it either didn't apply to me or I didn't understand the solution.

Can you ask your hosting provider to see if they support the "filesmatch" derivative in the htaccess.

It took them a while to answer this question, yes they do support the "filesmatch derivative in the htaccess.

Can you specify the version of PS you are trying to install, please?

I used v1.5.6.1. On my 4th attempt, it suddenly worked. Not sure what went wrong before, I used the same files as before.

it is always better the installation works from the first attempt:)

plz check your database for any duplicate or any missing tables and check if the site works in all browsers:)
