[SOLVED] Exclude category form block categories

In the horizontal menu one can configure which categories to display.

Is the same (somehow) possible for the block categories?

I did not mention that I wanted to keep the category displaying in the horizontal top menu, but only exclude it from the block categories. I guess if I disable it as you just mentioned, it will not display in the horizontal top menu anymore. I want to exclude it from the block categories because it is to large, with too many results for displaying it there.

Hello,

 

go to YOUR_ROOT_DIR/modules/blockcategories/

 

replace blockcategories.php file with the file which I am attaching to you. You can backup your previous one.

 

Now you can see from back office if you go to the configure link to this module:

 

Displayed Categories: category list with check boxes

 

check the categories you wish to display in the left or right column you wish to display. (Always check the home category otherwise no category will show). Now you can see only the selected categories

I did check "home" also but the block categories is now empty.

Any thoughts?

In the manufacturers block one can set a limit of the number of manufacturers to display. Could that be possible for the categories block also (somehow)?
