ainur
I've read an opinion that version 1.5 is extremly slow as compared to 1.4. And it is a very frequent recommendation to launch a shop on 1.4 engine because it's not only quicker but also easier to understand and maintain. I think on opening a ecommerce project and therefore I compare different engines. Do you think that it's better to start with version 1.4 for an unexperienced user? I also prefer quick sites better. Dh42
1.4 is no longer maintained, I would use 1.5.
ainur
Well yes, but there are bugfixes up to version 1.4.11 wich was released recently.
Dh42
There are, but there are also a lot less modules and a lot less features as well.
ainur
I would like to know if there is a "pack a present" feature in the latest versions. Let's say I have an ecommerce site with different goods and my buyers can select several goods, then choose a predefined packing/wrapping or even upload their own design of packing/wrapping and thus recieve a custom present. Is that possible in prestashop or should I look somewhere else?
Dh42
I don't think that is a stock feature in any e-commerce software. There are modules that could handle that though.
ainur
Could you please advise any appropriate modules for prestashop then? Although I've read somewhere that ecshop has such features built-in in the engine, questions about ecshop would probably be an offtopic here. Dh42
I honestly do not know of any off of hand. Prestashop has a gift wrap feature, but it applies to the whole order. You could use a combination that is built in to prestashop for implementing that.
