Changed Domain Name, Now Site Doesn't Work

Before launching my website, I decided to change the domain name to a new name.

 

It's on the same server and through the same hosting service (Inmotion Hosting).

 

Same everything, only the name changed.

 

Now, when I try to open my website, I receive the error "We're sorry, but the Web address you entered is no longer available." Also, none of the images (slideshow, featured images), appear anymore.

 

Does anyone know how I can remedy this?

Were domain and hosting setup separately? In any case you might just have to change the dns propagation. Also, in your root folder, delete the htaccess file, then go to the back office and be sure you update your domain in SEO and URLs

I already had the hosting service, and simply logged in to my account at InMotion Hosting and added the domain, then switched the old domain to the new domain name.

 

Right now we're going to have to wait. I can't log in to the Admin. I guess they're doing maintenance at InMotion. I'll get back with you and try the .htaccess thing when I can get in.

I contacted InMotion Hosting Technical Support and they are assisting me with this. The images--at least most of them--are appearing now, but not the ones under Featured Products.

 

But, now when you click on any of the menu items (Home, IPODS, Accessories), you receive 404 errors.

 

Hopefully, InMotion Hosting can assist me with this, unless someone on this board has any ideas as to why this is happening.

I got this resolved.

 

Regenerating the .htaccess file worked!
