Language goes back to previous one when navigating the site

Recommended Posts

If I change the language from Swedish to English, everything works and reads in English - until I go to a product page.

The product page has the following issues:
(that doesn't appear on any other pages)

  • /sv/ (for Swedish) in it's URL instead of /en/
(until I turn canonical URL off, then it shows the right URL - but the rest of the issues are still there)

  • The text is in Swedish when I have chosen English.

UPDATE: It works when I turn off friendly URL. But I would like to have that on. :/

Some people get the issue and some people don't. Support at prestashop didn't get the same issue either, but different other people do.

We also found this with people who have somewhat close to the same issue - going to try the fix in github for it now (linked in the thread):

Tried it now, still doesn't work. :/

Example:

  1. I go to the website and in Chrome - the language is Swedish, so is the url (/sv/ at the end)
  2. I click the language-field and choose English
  3. The website turns English and the url as well (/en/ at the end)
  4. I then click on a product and the website is in Swedish again, the url as well (/sv/) :(
  5. Even when I try to click the language-field for English on the productpage (again) it still is in Swedish

If I don't click the productpage first, and instead go to a subpage - this won't happen, it will still be in the language I chose (=working)

Example 2:

  1. I go to the website and in Firefox - the language is English, so is the url (/en/ at the end)
  2. I click the language-field and choose Swedish
  3. The website turns Swedish and the url as well (/sv/ at the end)
  4. I then click on a product and the website is in English again, the url as well (/en/)
  5. Even when I try to click the language-field for Swedish on the productpage (again) it still is in English

So my guess is that it chooses the browsers language (in my case firefox is english and chrome swedish), but how to solve this I don't know. It's a bit frustrating. :(
