CLance
Hi. I already installed and enabled New Products Block. However in the homepage I design, I cannot see it appear. I know the block previously appeared vertically at the left/right side. But I wish it appear horizontally under the "featured products" div. NemoPS
Modules -> Positions Transplant a new hook. Choose New Products block and Homepage as a hook location I can't remember for sure, but you will probably need to tweak css and tpl files to make it look decent in home! When you do, remember to flush Smarty cache
Sharak
Also if you want New products to stick there you should consider changing Preferences -> Products : Number of days for which the product is considered 'new' to something much bigger than default 20. CLance
Nemo1, can you describe more about the steps to transplant a new hook? i never use Modules->Position this function before...
NemoPS
Modules -> positions. In the top right, you have Transplant new module. Click on it. Then select a module, the Homepage position, and click add. More on modules: http://nemops.com/prestashop-modules/
vekia
well.. it will be complicated, you will see, especially reconfiguration of .css styles and .tpl file.
NemoPS
I second vekia, if you don't know about tpl and css, you might want to ask someone to do it for you. OR! you can give it a try, but it will take a lot to achieve what you need
CLance
Nemo1, okay, I will try my best to do it myself since I am learning how to modify the layout... Modules -> positions. In the top right, you have Transplant new module. Click on it. Then select a module, the Homepage position, and click add. CLance
Also if you want New products to stick there you should consider changing Preferences -> Products : Number of days for which the product is considered 'new' to something much bigger than default 20. Hi. Sharak, Why we need to change it which is bigger than default 20?
Sharak
Because normally products are considered New in presta for 20 days. After that time since last product creation there won't be any new products therefore blocknewproducts will disappear from homepage or just stay empty. Most likely you won't get any customers on your shop for first 20 days. Search Engine Optimization takes longer. If you're going to keep adding new prodcuts then it doesn't matter. Otherwise I would make this 100+ instead 20.
