How to deal with special characters in shop url?

Hey there,

 

as you may know, German language have some special characters, such as ßäöü ... ü for example has an "translation" to "ü" -- however how to deal with it in the shop-settings? At least äöü are allowed in domainnames for .de domains and I am using one, which has ü inside the domain.

 

I tried to set up two ways, however, both ways are not working:

 

In Databate, table shop_url I put "mydomainwithü.de" as shop url and also tried with "mydomainwithü"

 

For first way, I just receive: "Firefox can't find the server at........"

For second way its also not working...

 

How can I work with special characters ?

I tried using this "http://xn--mydomain-2vb.de"  as well (what actually should help with the üöä) but it also did not work.
