Petter B
Live Template Edits from Front-Office With Saas Compass technology merchants can change the look of their Front-Office without any advanced technical knowledge. Change and format the CSS of your store in just a few clicks using the new Live Template Edit feat Has anyone tried this? What in the template is editable? Is this the same thing as the module "themeconfigurator"? I need a special template for my shop and need to know if I will be able to make it myself using this feature or if I will need to hire someone. rv01
Hello Vekia, I was talking about this feature, the customisation tool to change to colours and fonts of the theme, see hereunder: A Refreshing New Responsive Default ThemeThe enhanced new default theme is sleek and responsive making PrestaShop stores accessible on all screen sizes including mobile devices and tablets! This new version also includes Live Template edits directly from the Front Office, allowing merchants to edit the colors and fonts of their online shop in just a few clicks, without any technical knowledge! vekia
with theme configuration you can change only basic things related to module like colors, backgrund etc. if you want to create totally different theme, you will need a bit more customization
rv01
Ben oui... yes I noticed that of course, thanks, but it contradicts your announcements, please stick to the point: Where is this functionality (presented by Prestashop): the possibility to edit colors and fonts with this tool???. Live Template edits directly from the Front Office, allowing merchants to edit the colors and fonts of their online shop in just a few clicks It is presented in the Prestashop videos and also by Nathalie Beigel, working for Prestashop, no? Can you tell me where is that tool? Rene

rv01
Will that help in changing fonts and colours, "in just a few clicks, without technical knowledge"??? You must be joking.
rv01
By the way your vapor website is nice, I was thinking of doing that for France.
Bill Dalton
rv01 have you tried the themeconfigurator? Go to BO Modules\themeconfigurator, click configure. When the module opens you'll see a number of things you can change on your theme, but for the one you would like click on the button called "Live configurator". This will let you change colors and fonts. Have fun! See here, I've changed the colors and font with just a couple of clicks, http://mobbplus.org/en/ Edited March 9, 2014 by Bill Dalton (see edit history)
Ray UK
By the way your vapor website is nice, I was thinking of doing that for France. Thanks If you can edit normal css, then just edit those css files. Its basically just the colours, and fonts. The rest of the theme still get done the usual way
rv01
Hi Bill, I don't see this themeconfigurator module in the module list
rv01
See post #4 from me. Anyone saw this stuff (customization tool) running for real??? Doesn't seem a complicate question. Going to sleep now, past midnight here in the UK far West.
Bill Dalton
Yeah it is there and it puts a popup over your frontend web site, I made the color and font changes with it. Can you change your entire theme? No. Can you change the color and fonts of "some things" live and without coding? Yes. When looking through your modules in the BO make sure you have the filter set to show all modules, installed, not installed, enabled and not enabled. I really had a good look at PS 1.6.04 RC today and it is a fantastic piece of software. I love it.
rv01
Yes all modules are showing, still no configurator. I tried to update the module list and now I get an error, pfff [PrestaShop] Fatal error in module productcomments:syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR
Bill Dalton
Yeah, I'm seeing others are having problems today with that as well. Did you update that module today? I updated mine and had no problem, but some did.
Bill Dalton
As for the theme module, I have no idea where it went on you ... it should be there. Best download another copy of RC and upload a new copy of the module. Edited March 10, 2014 by Bill Dalton (see edit history)
rv01
Cannot get to the "module" in my BO, what should I do? Always getting this error message. I will do that tomorrow, thanks
Bill Dalton
If the productcomments module is giving you problems, delete the module via ftp or your host. Replace it later.
rv01
I deleted this "productscomments" module and BO/modules is working again. Tks. I had to download a new RC to get the theme Configurator, its working, quite basic in fact. I have seen this one: Module Theme Customizer V2: customize your themefor £44 I might give it a try. I am not in fashion, just a kind off a drugstore boutique running in 1.4.3.7, must be simple and practical. My goal after upgrading to 1.6 is to use the default 1.6 theme with different colours, trying to find a way to centralise the colour modifications to ease the future upgrades. JeroenDW
I have used the customization tool to change the font and colors of my theme. But now I want to change the background of the theme. I like to have plain white background, now the default background is yellow with some kind of structure in it. Does anyone know how I change this? Thanks in advance! Kooperg
That doesn't change anything... You can just pick from the 8 color options. I'm having the same problem, I like the dark blue, but it comes with some background color. I can't find where to put it back to 'white'.... Ray UK
in modules/themeconfigurator/css/theme#.css ( the # depends which number theme you chose ) lines 5 & 9 both do the background .header-container, .columns-container { background: url(../img/bg-theme3.jpg) repeat 50% 0; } #header { background: url(../img/bg-theme3.jpg) repeat 50% 0; } just remove that, or specify a colour of your choice.

Kooperg
To get back to what you said. When I click on my website and tell the browser to show me the background image, it shows me: ...modules/themeconfigurator/img/bg-theme6.jpg In the theme6.css, in lines 5 and 9 there is only mention of 'white', no bg-theme6.jpg is even mentioned anywhere in the css file... I just uploaded a white square to fix this, but it seems strange that the theme #'s are not the same as the bg-theme#.jpg...
rv01
Saw that as well, but background comes white for me using theme6. You can even delete bg-theme6.img it is not used at all apparently.
Kooperg
Now I'm even more confused... Anyways I was using the darker blue one, and I've removed all lines 5-12 in all the theme# css's, and then uploaded a pure white bg-theme6 But now I'm wondering if it might have been that ctrl-f5 does not always work when adapting the css files... Or if my ctrl-button malfunctioned
rv01
Me my cmd-r (mac+chrome) works when I adapt the CSS. I still try to find a simple way to change the colours that stay black, like the "basket" or footer areas. It would have bee nice to have a more sophisticated "live editor". Kooperg
Yeah, it seems like they just keep it in to make sure developers are never out of a job.... I just look for a color in css and replace all instances of it.. and it still doesn't work for the footer and category headers..!
rv01
PS was a student work at the start and they kept bad programming practice. There are CSS and colors in their modules, so unless you change !!! everywhere !!! or buy a theme, customizing the colors of the default theme is a pain.
