BlizzardUK
I am trying to enable Smart Cache but I keep getting an error message saying the directory needs to be writable. Exact wording is "To use Smart Cache directory must be writable" However, I have tried to find every directory on my FTP that says "cache" or "smart" or "smarty" but still I get the error. I have a 1.5 theme on 1.5. Any ideas ? Thanks.
BlizzardUK
Sorted it myself. Seems the theme maker never had a "cache" folder made within the theme, I had to create one there. The cache folders I was changing were the ones outside of the theme.

JohnADK
thank you for information where the problem was btw. may i know what theme you use? it's custom work or some theme from addons store? I had the same problem and found this solution via the forum. My theme was simply a copy of the default theme that I have edited. Seems the functionality to create a new template from an existing one didn't include the cache folder. Anyway, adding the folder to the theme fixed my issue. thanks.
