Having a bunch of issues. Hopefully someone can help.

I have PrestaShop 1.5.6.0 installed on a local machine  Ubuntu 13.10 and I am having multiple issues mostly related to images.

 

​Neither Image Slider no Home Text will allow me to upload pictures. I just get an error message.

 

For image slider the error message is An error occurred during the image upload process. In a pink box inside of another pink box. For Home Text it is the same error but there is only one box.

 

Images for products upload fine.

 

In addition I am having problems with one click update. I figured try upgrading to  1.5.6.1 and see if that helps but One Click update keeps insisting it needs upgrading even though I have the newest version installed. If I try to upgrade I get a success message but then when I try to use it claims it needs to be upgraded. 

 

Any ideas?

 

Only attribute that involves editing core files is Attribute Wizard Pro.

load this free module, just to make sure your php setup is allowing file uploads

then go check your php image values under info_configuration

 

for example:

file_uploads = on?

upload_max_filesize = value?

File uploads on with max size at 2M. 

 

I considered image size so tried uploading files that were 27k and still no luck
