Install won't execute

Hi all,
System requirements are all met, so I uploaded all files as per the wiki. Changed the folder permissions as required. For recursively folders, wiki didn't specify wether to change both the folder and file permissions so I left it as default in FileZilla which was both files and folders. All uploaded ok.

Went to execute the install and nothing, a blank white screen. No error messages or anything, just a white explorere page.

I have tried entering www.siteURL.com/install - nothing but white screen

Does anyone know what may be causing this. I have tried searching the forums using the search words "install won't execute" and "blank screen" but can't find a similar problem.

Server operating system is Linux
PHP Version is 5.2.8
MySQL version is 4.1.22-standard

You do not meet the requirements for PrestaShop.

System Requirements :

- Linux, Unix, or Windows
- Web Server (Apache 1.3 or later, IIS 6 or later)
- PHP 5.0* or later
- MySQL 5** or later



* Some PHP 5 versions are bugged and prevent PrestaShop from working correctly:
- PHP 5.2.1 (authentication is impossible)
- PHP 5.2.6 (authentication is impossible under 64bits servers)
- PHP 5.2.9 (image management/upload broken)
- PHP < 5.2 (invalid date timezone)

** PrestaShop is working from MySQL 4.1.14 to 5.0 too but some features are not working (e.g., product duplication) or have strange behaviors

Sorry, new to this.
What exactley am I missing ?

My SQL 5** or later - I have 4.1.22 (•PrestaShop is working from MySQL 4.1.14 to 5.0 too)

What exactly do I need to change/request to get it to work ?

I know that the MySQL is an older version, but would this stop the install from executing ?

Sorry, I understand that you say I can't use Prestashop, but can you tell me exactly why I can't use it so I know what to change/look for ?

I'm not saying you cannot install PS but it looks like the versions you use could be the problem.

What is your server error-log saying (maybe you have to ask your hoster).

Thanks for the reply.

Suprisingly, I get no error messages. I type in the site URL and also /install and the page is just white. In the bottom left corner is say's "done" and thats it.

It's like the index page is just a white page.

The only thing that I have noticed thats odd, is down the browser web page size (100%) it say's "intranet", not "internet"

As I type this now, the bottom right of the browser page say's "internet" as I am connected to it.

If I type in my URL I would atleast expect a 404 message, but nothing, just a blank white page, no error messages.

Also, just checked the server error log, no error's listed.

ALL GOOD

CPanel showed PHP Version as 5.2.8 but when I checked the server was set as PHP Version 4.4.9. Changed over to Version 5 and all is executable.
