Add category as attribute list and update price

Hi all. I am looking for a way to add a stock item from a different category to a product from within a product page and have it updating the price before adding to the cart. let me try and explain. i am looking at bike product page and i want a drop down list where i have the option to add from a selection of different upgraded seats in different colours (already for sale on the shop in a different category) upon adding one the price gets updated and i can add to the cart. this would deduct both items from stock and display as two items in the checkout.

There should be custom module for this, although I don't know it. Normally you would have to add seats as combinations. Also you could add seats as products in Associations tab -> Accessories on product edit page
