Guest
Hi All Recently upgraded our installations to 1.5.6.1 and I have noticed that every time I close the browser I have to re-log in to the back office I assume this is a new security feature - but is there anyway we can switch it off? I need my browser to remember the log in details. I would be happy if it remembered the details and I had to click to log in, but preferably just to remain logged in between sessions
NemoPS
In Administration, Preferences, can you check the lifetime of the back office cookies?
Guest
In Administration, Preferences, can you check the lifetime of the back office cookies? Yes, that was my first thought. It was set to 480 hours before upgrade and still is. Worked just fine before the upgrade, but now I have to log in every time I restart the browser. I will try changing the numbers and see what effect that has. I have cleared all the caches and my browser cache so I assumed it was just a new security feature
NemoPS
No, I don't think it's a security feature (as far as I know). It seems like cookies are not created, only a session.

Guest
Hi All, thanks for your input Although I had cleared all the caches, I repeated the process and this time things seem to be working (so far)
vekia
thank you so much for information that it works well, to be honest, it's common problem especially when you're installing prestashop for the first time or when you dealing with theme changes etc. anyway, glad to hear that it works. i marked this topic as [solved] if problem will appear again, let us know here with regards, Milos
Guest
Been a bit busy so only just got back to this. Problem is not solved, though I do have more information. As far as I can tell cookies are fine. Deleted them. Checked the cookies and all have dates well in advance But I think the problem is that I access on my laptop which I use at work and at home. So I think the cookies are checking my access IP address? Is that possible and has it changed on 1.5.6? Basically I log in at work and everything is fine no matter how many times I open and close the browsers I don't need to log in again. I go home, and I am immediately logged out and have to log in again This is no great problem, just interesting as it has changed since upgrading to 1.5.6 Edited January 10, 2014 by Guest (see edit history)
vekia
So I think the cookies are checking my access IP address? Is that possible and has it changed on 1.5.6? you've got probably right! Administration > preferences there is an option (second one) and it's turned on by default
