MockoB
Hello everyone. I am new to prestashop, and don't understand anything in development. I wold like to buy a template for my shop, but so far I am experiencing problems with the slow loading speeds of the templates i choose. Here is a link with the speed comparison of the themes i choose: http://gtmetrix.com/compare/aS4FJt5e/UzgWZDOm/u4cJngif The problem is that My favorite choice is the first one with the best score, but when I browse the theme with my pc or my device the theme speed is unacceptably slow. In fact the theme with the worst score is the fastest theme when browsing. I understand that the test does not show the user experience speed wishes and there is nothing much to do with the first template. But I LOVED that theme and I really wish to use it, besides bugs i found and it is really unusable with much smartphones ... Please visit the theme demo to see it's ridiculously slow loading. I don't want to loose clients even before i started my business. Is there any possibility to lower loading times, lets say to a sec or two? And what is the reason it is soooo slow? Thank You in advance Moskov
vekia
speed of themes you viewed depends on hosts where the page with demo is hosted. if you will have good and well configured host - your page will be faster than pages in comparison report you attached. MockoB
Yes I do understand that the speed depends on hosting. But aren't those demo templates all on a same server, from the test results all on server in Canada as I can see? Is it possible the problem could be with the modules installed on the demo page? Because all pages in the store are extremely slo? I am speaking of the first template of the test results. And I don't want to buy particular template just by hoping that hosting plan will solve its problems. Why to pay more for hosting plan if the template has issues from its root if it is so, it is something like close circle ... How can I be sure that the slow loading time is from hosting for that particular template, before I buy it? I am pretty sure I am not the only person who is asking hisself that question. vekia
Yes I do understand that the speed depends on hosting. But aren't those demo templates all on a same server, no they arent on the same server http://prestashop-demo.net/PRS06/PRS060138/ http://www.demo4leotheme.com/prestashop/leo_jewelry/index.php different hosts - different locations, so ping time may be different. the same with host performance etc.
MockoB
Ok, they are on different hosts. But the sites are different also, so how can be sure where the problem is? The question still remains. I suppose i have to visit already working site with this template on paid host ? Is there any way to do this? Do I have to ask the developer, or there is easer way to do it? Sorry for the stupid questions but as I said I am totally new to this, but would like to learn. MockoB
Problem solved. Bought the template, it was really the host reason for the slow speed.
