whole page refreshing

I am wondering if there is a way around this. Am using the default prestashop featured products on my home page.Any time i click on view to see details of a particular product, the whole page reloads and then shows details of the product.

 

Is there a way to ensure that the side bars left and right dont also reload when view is clicked so as to reduce load time.

it's normal when you change page url the browser window is reloaded. By default there is no function to display product page without page refresh.

If you want such a feature, you need a big modification which loads the center column asynchronously

i know several "quick view" modules, maybe this will be a nice feature for you

Or, if you can wait till 1.6, it will have the quick views feature out of the box

module like that, for ps 1.5 is usually paid i don't know any free one,

check http://addons.prestashop.com

 

or exactly as nemo suggested, wait for 1.6, it's a part of prestashop default features
