spaceman
PLEASE HELP! I tried to install v1.5.6.0 as a test site to run alongside my existing site (on v1.0). I stupidly installed the app (via Plesk 11) in a folder on my exsiting site (www.cozibag.co.uk/test) but I think I should have made a subdomain (test.cozibag.co.uk)? I now can't load my live website, I just get the followig message on Firefox: The connection was resetThe connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web. Being a novice, I don't really have a clue what I've done but I'm guessing I must have overwritten one of the files, perhaps the config.inc file or something? I'd really appreciate any advice. spaceman
UPDATE: I've realised the problem is being caused by changing the PHP memory limit to 132M (as required by v1.5.6) so I don't know how I can get around that...?
NemoPS
First, I suggest you use a more standard value for the memory limit, like 128 or 256. Then, Access your site via ftp and delete everything in that test folder, access the database and delete the test one, just to cleanup. Now see if you can access the main store. If not, delete your htaccess file (main folder). Try to access the back office and see if it works at all
spaceman
Thanks Nemo, it turned out to be due to having no mcrypt installed, despite having php 5.3 which I thought has mcrypt as standard? Anyway, I couldn't get it to work but I've got another VPS that I can use so I'm planning to move it across to that. I am now wondering the best way to go about moving my site to a new server and upgrading it, but I'll start a new thread. Cheers Scott
