Liquidus Posted December 21, 2013 Author Share Posted December 21, 2013 Regenerating the thumbnails keeps crashing my server, i have over 8000 images... i even had to restore a backup because i never could regenerate to the end, so i think that comes out of question.I also think that wouldnt help in the fact that i cannot add new products and new images :-? ricky11 Posted December 21, 2013 Share Posted December 21, 2013 II would suggest not to regenerate all at once, it will always usually crash. You can regenerate category / products part by part separate, that would work. Then try. Flush Browser cache, and the disable the template cache etc in the BO, which i am sure you know. Liquidus Posted December 21, 2013 Author Share Posted December 21, 2013 I did try that but even if i do it for only one part example small_default it crashes, there are a lot of images in the products thumbnails. So i tried your suggestion for the category thumbnails earlier and it didnt work. What i did notice is that if i would download from public_html/img/tmp the image and upload it again, then it would work, and after a while (not instantly) it would appear in the back office. Ok lets say i could manually do this for every picture (horror) But this still dosnt solve the issue that if i try to upload an image to a new product, question marks appear. Could be a hosting issue, check the php file memory list ask your shared hosting provider, should be more than 300mb. i hope some other moderators wil help you here. Where can i check php file memory?I am on a managed VPS account so i think i have a bigger limit but i dont know how to check. Yes, well actually i tried to regenerate for category yesterday, i regenerated for all category sections, and then it didnt work neither in frontend nor in backend, so i had to use a backup of my site and im scared to use the regenerate thumbnails again cause of this issue. So in frontend everything is ok unless i want to add a new product with new images, then its not working. Not appearing in backoffice product list, but in the product details they appear. Liquidus Posted January 11, 2014 Author Share Posted January 11, 2014 Think i found a solution for this. Actually i solved it for me, dont know if it would solve for others. I have moved hosting/server and then this problem happened. Also permissions for all my folders in cpanel went crazy and changed, but i could manually change them back to how they were supposed to be and it worked. After 3 days of full research on this i didnt find anything, and accidentally noticed that if i change permission in cpanel to some certain files, it would pop back to its original permissions (false permissions like 600). Then i contacted my host and told them that i couldnt change permissions for some files and they noticed that my cpanel user account got mixed up during transfer and that i wasnt actually allowed to change those permissions, so they fixed it, gave general permission for my cpanel account and problem was solved. Well not quite, i had to zip all images in img/tmp and then unzip over the old ones and then it worked Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
