ftlrs
Hi all I want to run two different stores, with each there URL. However, the stock is the same. So I want to avoid having to update the stock of show B everytime someone buy an item in shop A. Is this possible? I guess they would need to share (or syncronize) one part of the database? Thanks!!! ftlrs
Thanks senso321 I have been trying a lot of things with multishop. But it doens seem to solve the eaxect problem, that I have. Basicly: the same shop using two different URLs Thanks again,
senso321
Then you just have to create two times the same shop. It's all written down in the documentation. But as you can see then stock management is still only limited to per shop only. So basicly you need to do some hardtime coding to achieve that. However I haven't had the chance to test the multistore feature and I might be wrong. BR's
ftlrs
Yes, thats the problem I need the two URLs to share the same stock management. Thingis, from here it looks like, I could just give shop A "another URL". Then why wouldn´t it work? " Setting a shop's URLEach shop can have its own URL – or even several URLs – entirely independent from the main shop. You must define at least one URL for each shop." El Patron
I think you need to use warehouse. Warehouses: While advanced stock management can only be used for a single shop at a time, warehouses can be used with shop groups, and you can simply manage the warehouses in order to have advanced stock management. learn more here; http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS15/Advanced+Stock+Management
ftlrs
OK. Thanks a lot El Patron! I´ll look into that right away.
ftlrs
Hello again I managed to install Advanced Stock Management. However, when I get to "quantity" it tells me I can set the number, when "Im using "all shops". But thats the whole idea; that I need to have one number for all shops, and once someone buys from shop A, the number in stock will go down in shops B as well.. Any ideas how to solve this? WIll be happy to send yo login info.. Thanks :-)
El Patron
ASM is by shop only, see documentation. However you can share warehouses amongst shops. There is a matrix in the documentation 'stock management' showing which configuration works for multistore.
ftlrs
Thanks for your patience El Patron. I appreciate it a lot! Does that mean that (when I hopefully find out how all this works) I should be able to share 1 stock for 2 different shops? So when an item is bought in shop A, shop B will automaticly update so that there is one less of that item there too? Thank you!
El Patron
using warehouse(s) you can share same stock across shops. let us know how you get on...
ftlrs
Im so happy to read such a clear TES, to my questions :-) That makes it much more motivating to keep going , when you work so hard on a problem. :-)Status: I added a text product. I specified in warehouse management that there are 3 in stock of this product. But when going to the product page in backend (I enabled use Advanced Stock Management ) it looks like the quantity is "0". How can that be? Thanks again again! :-)
El Patron
I would not really know, I think this takes a little testing and making sure that you have correctly set up your warehouses. I sell virtual products so my experience is pretty basic when it comes to creating shop that uses 'true' stock. I've helped a couple of customers but I did it like you are, by reading and a little trial and error. Hopefully you will become expert and able to contribute the to the community your experiences and help others.
