glennlawre
Is there a way to do a fresh install of v1.5.6 and then to use my current 1.4.9 db for the new store? I have tried to upgrade my store now 4 times but have issues every time with images, cart, header, plugins, themes etc. I am thinking that my current store (1.4.9) has had too many customizations and plugins that it would probably be best to just start with a fresh install. However I do not want to loose my db content with customers, orders etc. Can this be done? Thanks in advance...
NemoPS
Unless you grab and convert every single table to replicate the new database structure, no, you can't
glennlawre
So I am stuck with using the 1-Click upgrade then! Thanks for the reply...
NemoPS
No necessarily. I haven't tried it on 1.5, but you should be able to perform a manual installation by copying all files (except the settings one) over the previous, and reach the install folder. Not sure it still works, but that's how prestashop used to be updated before a decent autoupgrade (half decent)
bellini13
the manual upgrade process (which Nemo1 refers to) works perfectly fine, I do that over the auto upgrade process all the time. In your case, I might suggest a cart migration service. Just install a clean PS v1.5.6.1 installation, and then pay a migration service to migrate your customer/product/order data from the old store to the new store. glennlawre
"Pay for someone to do this" - isn't that what this forum is for, so we can ask for and offer help to others so we don't have to pay for every change we need to make! Anyways, thanks for the replies guys, after much perseverance I managed to get the 1-Click upgrade to work. I am now running on 1.5.6.1. Still some teething issues that I may need to look over the forums to try and solve, or maybe I will be making another post or two regarding Cheers...
