Importing language package

Hello.

Pls help me on the following:

- I installed some weeks ago prestashop1.1_ITA and I made many changes on the italian translation

- I exported it ( file named it.gzip ) on my pc

- today I downloaded prestashop_1.2.4.0 (english version) and I unziped it

- I copied the folders unzipped from it.gzip into the english version and then I made the installation.

- I see no trace of "it" anywhere - I only have english and french. What is wrong?

Pls. do not tell me to download the Italian language upgrade, I wish to use my translation.
Have I to reinstall prestashop_1.2.4.0 an then import it.gzip? Or what?

Can the exported translation be installed?
