How to Make Virtual Products use Direct Links for download

Hello!

 

      I Need to edit the Virtual Products Radio to accept Direct Download Links. The Files i would like to put up for sale Exceed the 30Mb Limit. Is there a possibility of editing it.

You could edit the GetFileController to stream the file content from an alternative source (instead of the database), or you could just provide a direct link to the alternative location.

 

However if you use direct links to files stored somewhere else, how will you protect those files from being downloaded by people that have not purchased?

 

I would avoid storing 30mb+ files in your database, that is too large and will make backups/restoring your PS store a nightmare to manage.

Ok thanks i never thought about the possibility of people downloading the file without purchasing it. But i will look into it. Also do you know anyway i can protect the files?
