delite163
Hi,As I am adding product I noticed thisProduct link will look like this: http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/id_product-uncas-rhinestone-ring.html.What I am wondering about is in the store the product page is missing the .html . Is that the way friendly urls are supposed to look in the store. Just want some input to make sure every thing is set up right.Thank you

delite163
hi,if you activate the friendly URL function, your product link SHOULD end with html extension. not sure about what you mentioned about "the product page", or may you please provide more info?regards, Hi,The link was just an example of what the back office was saying that my url's should look like. But many don't. Here is a link to the site maybe you could click on the links http://www.ohyesvintagejewelry.com/store/18-accessories and have a look at the url. Some have the .html and others don't. I do have friendly urls turned on.The actual product ad page does have the .html but most others don't. Like my policies page, it doesn't. it looks like this http://www.ohyesvintagejewelry.com/store/content/1-Policies. the website link is www.ohyesvintagejewelry.com/storeThank you
rocky
It is normal for friendly URLs to be displayed that way in Prestashop. Categories are displayed as id-name, CMS pages are displayed as content/id-name and products are displayed default_category/id-name. I think they each must use a unique format to avoid confusion of whether the URL points to a category, CMS page or product.

paradate
Is there a way to use friendly URLS without accessing the .htaccess file?(My hosting server does not support it)Is there a way to change it directly from the database?
tomerg3
No, you must be able to access the .htaccess file for the URL rewrite. If your host is not a linux server, but a windows IIS then there is a mod I believe you can use (http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/23742/general_discussion/iis_modrewrite_pro_and_prestashop_fix)
