Unable to load product pages on front end, but others can?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,   I have searched the forums and have learnt & tried much, but cannot solve my issue with not being able to view product pages of my site. I have deleted many unused/unwanted modules in the belief that it would free up server memory, but to no avail. The strange thing is my host says they can view the site with no issues, similarly with the theme makers. I can view all links except those to product pages, and also cannot view cart once a product has been added.

I get this message, and checked ini.php settings, and memory is set at 128M. The site is early deveopment until I know it's working correctly, but this is getting very frustrating. If it was a memory issue then surely everyone would have the issue, not just me..?

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 42991616) (tried to allocate 24 bytes) in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/pi/x_/8_/pix-8.co.uk/public_html/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatelexer.php on line 46

site: www.pix-8.co.uk

I am a beginner with Prestashop, but willing to try anything to get my shop up & running.

Appreciate any help you can offer,    Thanks, Matt.

Hi ibndawood,  thanks for your post.  I have checked the settings and it's on :  Recompile templates if the files have been updated. I've not changed it at all since installation.

My host (who has viewed site just, any sees no issues) has advised to clear cache on browser which I've done numerous times, and test view via proxy. Which I've done, but I don't even get the home page fully loading to view products. If I use other links to products (New Products/ Best sellers) I get the fatal error message.

Really scratching my head with this. I'm off to try on an old xp PC I buried somewhere to see if it's any different.  Could it be anything to do with my ISP ?

Much appreciate your help.

Hi All,  Quick update : tested site on another PC and on another ISP and still won't load product pages. I've flushed browser cache & DNS, but still the same errors on any link to a product. All other page links load fine.

Host provider syas the site works fine at their end.

Interested if anyone has had a similar problem?

Thanks, Matt.

Quick update : my hosting support (who say they can view site without issues) have sent me the below log of issues on the site today, and are suggesting that it is the fact that my shared hosting can't support the scripts.

I would appreciate if any one in the community could confirm this from the logs below, before I pay out for a better server. As mentioned above mt memory limit is currently set at 128M, and my store has under 10 products. :

Thank you for contacting 123-reg on the 10th December 2013.

The only error logs from today are:

These indicate that the resources needed for your scripts to complete their task are higher that the Shared Hosting can offer and when this happens, the scripts timed you and the website returns an error.

If we can be of any further help with regard to this or any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact us.
