[Solved] Problem installing a module - override directory not writable - Google Sitemap

I'm trying to install Google Sitemap module for my shop but encountering this error. What should I do? Should I give write permission to certain directories? Which ones?

The following module(s) were not installed properly:- gsitemap : 
Unable to install override: directory (/<root directory of my shop>/override/classes/shop) not writable

My ultimate goal is to get a xml sitemap which I can submit to Google Webmaster Tools so any alternatives are welcome

can you create manually the directory shop you are certainly missing some other directories within your override folder

I've solved the problem myself actually.

I backup index.php inside /override/classes/shop/ and gave write permission to the directory itself.

It worked and nothing has broken
