Barry1877
Hi All, I really would appreciate some help. My accessories category has just disappeared from the back office (this has approx 20 sub categories) This is the second time that this has happened in the last few weeks and the first time I rebuilt all the categories in the BO. The Front office stops working as well and the site cannot be accessed, however I learned from the last experience that If I delete blocktopmenu the from office works. I have no way of accessing my categories, though they still appear to be in the PS_category table I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to get them back and if anyone could tell me why this has happened TWICE?? Many Thanks
Barry1877
Hi...I have an update to this...the client was connecting to the back office via a different domain name(see attached) and updating the categories ( this would appear what happened the previous time) He has connected via the temp url we were using during construction. see attached. I have reinstalled the blocktopmenu and then removed the accessories category from it...the site functions www.andersonkilts.co.uk I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to get the categories showing again in the BO Many Thanks

Barry1877
Hi, the problem was as above the client was connecting under a temp url and then updating the store, on investigating the database the catergories were all still there, however not showing in the back office. The way I resolved it was to create new categories and assign the products to the new ones and then delete the old ones from the database. Not sure if that was the best way to go about it but it worked!
jiri.lorenz
Thank you for your reply. Maybe it can be the same situation. All data are in category SQL tables, but not visible in BO. What everything you delete in SQL. All tabs with *category* in name? I think it can exist some "better" solution - data still exist …. Thank you again. Barry1877
I matched unique numbers from the BO categories that I wanted to keep then deleted the unique numbers id_category from ps_category that I no longer needed. However I did leave id_category 1 & 2 as a failsafe as I had a feeling these would be part of the top lever or home category. Hope that help Barry
