Icons disappear when the global.css file is amended

Right, can anyone get their heads around this one?

 

On the home page the add featured items to homepage function works fine when the theme i'm using is freshly installed.

 

However, If I edit the global.css file in any way, even if I change it back to be the same as it was originally, then upload it, the icons disappear (see screenshots)

 

Everything is the same except for the date the css file was modified.

 

How on earth could this be deleting these icons?

Hi,

 

I think you are using Font Awesome + CCC enabled with Cache. Problems like you mentioned have their general solution in clearing the cache (of your browser or that of prestashop) + making sure the font awesome fonts directory is properly given. Otherwise I don't really see any other reason.

it will be much easier to say what's goin on there

i suppose that problem is related to minified css file, exactly as ibndawood mentioned above.

Give me some credit, i'm gonna try clearing the cache before posting on here : )

 

I spent a lot of time on this, turning minified on and off, clearing cache, checking permissions etc.

 

It was a very odd problem, couldn't waste any more time figuring it out though so in the end I just created these icons again from scratch using icons and took away the lenghthy css gradient code which worked.

 

So no idea what was happening before.
