Installed prestashop in wrong folder, store is not my main website.

Newbie to Prestashop! Installed Prestashop in the wrong folder using Filezilla. I watched the installation video and uploaded prestashop as directed in video but, I need it to be in a sub folder as it is not the main part of my website. I haven't finished the installation afraid to proceed. What can I do? Can I move it to another folder after installation? Do I need to uninstall and start over? Do I complete installation and then uninstall it? I can't do anything with website, it is showing the Installation Wizard.

so you mixed the PrestaShop files with your main url files?

 

if so, you can delete them by sorting by file date.

 

I would back up the main directory before deleting them.

 

Then upload 'again' to the folder you want to install PrestaShop

Yes, I mixed them up. I deleted them very carefully, file by file, and now my site has gone down. I can't even get into the Admin area, only into the cPanel of my hosting site. In a panic, at the moment, as this is the worst time for this to happen. I have no idea what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you for replying.

that is why I suggested backup on the root files...you do not want to hear this now...but always back up...

 

can you have your hosting company restore the root files?
