Jeffro
I have been having trouble with the Customer Reassurance module in 1.5.4 so I upgraded to 1.5.6.1. Since then I was getting the reassurance block being mixed into the main footer block and not above it like it is supposed to be. I messed around with it for quite awhile and I finally deleted the module. Now I am trying to get it back. I copied the old blockreinsurance module directory back to the site from a backup of 1.5.4. This does not work. I get a permissions error and a module can't load error... Can someone help me get the module back and working please?

vekia
so, when you upload module directory try to change its permissions to 777 (change chmod)
Jeffro
What files need 777? All the permissions look like all of the other modules... 755 and 644 Thank you for your help!
Jeffro
What is chmod?
vekia
chmod In Unix-like operating systems, chmod is the name of a Unix shell command and a system call, which both change the access permissions to file system objects (including files and directories), as well as specifying special flags.[1] The name is an abbreviation of change mode. this is command to change permissions to the files. i asked about change module permissions (chmod) to 777 because of this: I copied the old blockreinsurance module directory back to the site from a backup of 1.5.4. This does not work. I get a permissions error and a module can't load error...
Jeffro
OK, now I am really showing my inexperience with Unix... I only know how to change permissions via my hosts GUI in their tool. Should I change everything in the mod directory to 777? Or do you want to school me on the Unix shell? Which tool would you recommend?: Users typically interact with a modern Unix shell using a terminal emulator. Common terminals include xterm and GNOME Terminal... Jeffro
I thought that I remember a name change of some sort in this module with the upgrade to 1.5.6.1 and since I copied a 1.5.4 mod into my 1.5.6.1 install, this might be something to look at but it's kind of beyond me. Thanks again for hanging in with a newbie! lol Happy Thanksgiving by the way!

Jeffro
Can you please tell me what the hook is supposed to be for the blockreinsurance module?
vekia
you have to attach it to displayFooter hook, then move module to the top of the list (on displayFooter modules list) - you can do everything under modules > positions tab in back office
