Upgrading results in changes to CSS files & main theme

Recommended Posts

Howdy,  :)

I have installed Prestashop, copied the default theme folder and skinned that to my likings and made it active trough the back office.

Works like a charm, except that every single time that I upgrade, I have "Upgrade the "default" theme"

set to no, parts of my theme revert back to their default options.

All or some of the CSS files located in -> Prestashop -> modules change every time I upgrade.

So my question is, what am I doing wrong here as it's getting a real pain to go back in every single upgrade and "fix" the images/CSS files that got changed in the main module section?

Would love to get help in this since it's driving me a 'little bit' crazy. :o

hello

move your default theme to other directory for example mydefault

then use it as a theme in your store.

remember to use overrides if you want to change modules .tpl files

this is the best way to avoid problems with template modifications after upgrade.

Hi Vekia,

I have default copied and renamed in themes folder and then skinned. Is that ok?

Overrides?

That is the first time I heard about them. Do you have a link to a tutorial or equal so I can learn how to use this?

Thank you for your quick reply!  :)
