sooroos
it is just the default theme in my opinion you need to work a bit if you expect reviews here. What should i comment about the default theme? "good job ps team"?
vekia
funny logo and that's all what i can say in this case, due to the fact that this is just simple default theme without modifications
madmartian
Thanks for looking. Can you post me links to some sites using free themes that you like better?
El Patron
Thanks for looking. Can you post me links to some sites using free themes that you like better? free? you get what you paid for...IMHO any serious shop owner should invest in a 'paid' theme solution. ok, enough said slider, the image are distorted. menu, well it's a mess...try to categorize and then spread menu items across menu...include such things as speicals, free shipping offers.. add comments, look at yotopo it's hot right now product page, right col, just has news letter, find modules to plant there...new items best sellers etc... display payment options and a cool theme..with kick butt navigation

madmartian
Thanks, great tips. Sorry for my newbie-ness. I've been using the same perl-script shopping cart for 15 years and am finally upgrading. Several reasons for using the default theme: 1. easier upgrades 2. I don't want to go from a very simple cart to a very complex cart. My needs are simple. 3. I viewed lists of "top 10", "top 20", etc PrestaShop themes and I didn't see a big advantage over the default theme for selling eyeballs. Now if I could find a theme that really enhanced the fact that I sell eyeball toys, that might be different. Something more curvy. I did look up optometrist themes and didn't like any of them. I want a theme that says "fun and cool" not "serious and professional".
El Patron
btw I like your products...and that is the most important thing... as far as upgrades...if the shop works in all ways you like...then upgrading is overrated...especially after you have everything set and running smoothly... honestly I am wanting to upgrade from 1.4.6.2 just so I can get some of the new cool themes that are being produced...they have just some rocking stuff out there....all my customers...have much nicer sites than I do... madmartian
Thanks, El. While my site "works", it has that "written in the 90s" look. You can see the current shopping cart here: http://www.madmartian.com/eyes/eye_menu_all.htm There is no search and no ability to have coupons or sales. These are features I need, though I may need a sale module because I want the original price to show when something is on sale and the default theme doesn't do that. madmartian
Undistorted images - check favicon - check Payment options - check Right col - put payment options there, also has specials, recently viewed. I don't know how to create specials yet. top menu - still not sure what to do with this yet. comments - won't be doing that. Thanks for the tips!
