Deynor
Hi, i have a main shop that works greats (www.domain1.com). Now i need to open a second store with different product, so i purchased a new domain (www.domain2.com). I've created this second shop in the same group of the first one, to share clients... I've read some guides, like the prestashop documentation, but without results. I tried to park domain to the same directory as the first domain but no results. (it says that might need 24 hours to "redirect" properly the domain, it's true?) I use cPanel and PS 1.5.6.0. Suggestion? And, another question. I have for my shop two domain (.it and .com), with first store work properly. How can i do this for the second shop? Thanks

El Patron
it really seems that the 2nd domain name is set up incorrectly at the hosting (dns) level. typically (but not all hosting) for cpanel you 'park' the new domain to the main shop domain name. for pleask, you alias the 2nd domain to the main domain. you can not use 301/302 type redirects because by the time that 2nd domain reaches prestashop, it has been turned into the main url. once you get the url pointing done correctly and get your 2nd domain running, it will all be worth it. TomPuja
Hi All! Just wanted to share with others who gonna struggle by searching for clear instructions as I did What worked for me... and for my scenario: Domain1.com - First and main shop Domain2.com - a new secondary shop (with different products) 1. Register a domain2.com and direct it to your server (via DNS records, where your current domain1.com shop is hosted) 2. Enable Multistore at your Presta BO (by logging into your domain1.com). No new installation is needed. 3. Under New store (in Multistore section) tick on "MAIN URL" enter your domain2.com as "Domain". Not sure about SSL - haven't tested yet. Physical - haven't entered anything. 4. Login to your server and put your domain2.com as "alias" under "domain1.com" 5. Wait a bit as it takes time... Hope it was some help for you.
Jadzia
That was very helpful thank you! I was trying to figure out if I needed to install Prestashop on the second domain or not. Thanks again!
wholeleafhook
Please clarify what you mean by "Login to your server and put your domain2.com as "alias" under "domain1.com"? Is this the cname record?
Tung at RockPOS.com
I don't think need to set up an alias. Just point 2 domains to the same hosting / web root folder. Of course, make sure you did follow right steps to set up your second shop. Cheers, Tung

Tung at RockPOS.com
It should work fine. Of course, make sure your domains and SSL are configured correctly. Tung
