rialni
Please take a look at this image. This is what happens, when I try to visit my site from a smartphone It happened after I deleted a line from the htaccess file, because that line crashed my site, when I turned on friendly url - apparently a wellknown bug in 1.5.6. But how do I fix this now? I really hope someone knows how to help. Will it do the trick if I upgrade to 1.5.6.1 and if I do so, will all the Work I didn't do in the themes folder be lost? Thanks in advance for your help

MLAnhalt
Hello rialni; First turn off "friendly url", then put the line back in? If you can't remember what that line was, usually there is a default value listed in the .htaccess file; give that a try.
rialni
Hi, but i still need the friendly URLs turned on? So how do I do that? If I put the line back in and turn friendly URL on again, it kills the shop front and back both.
MLAnhalt
.htacces is tricky (not as tricky as fixing "Free Shipping errors though ) what lines did you change that broke it and did you change the rewrite from the Prestashop "SEO & URLS" window or directly? rialni
In the 'SEO and URLS' window I turned on friendly URL, because i read somewhere that even though it says 'mod_rewrite is not active on your server' this is a bug and it will still turn on. However, this crashed the site and 404 came up both front and back. I consulted my host, who replied that it was a wellknown problem and guided me to take out a line in the htaccess file. This is what they write If you experience an error 500 after installation of 1.5.6, check your error log. If it shows error concerning SetEnv in your htaccess file, you must remove that line in the file and then you will be up and running Again. That's the guide I followed which in turn destroys the smartphone and tablet sites. Edited November 21, 2013 by rialni (see edit history)
MLAnhalt
I have no other suggestions then. sorry
rialni
It's okay. Thanks for trying I turned off friendly urls and deleted the SetEnv once Again (how'd that happen) and now it Works - friendly url doesn't though. I think it's because my host has PHP 5.4 and it doesn't support friendly url... not good. Thanks Again anyway
